This show-stopper hot pink hat has a single large, stylish bow but is deceptively complex (the bow is two parts) and looks different from each angle. The pattern is a genuine late 1930s/early 1940s design, and it is made with 100% wool felt finished underneath with petersham ribbon and a matching lining. The flattering brim frames the face, and would work with tailored vintage outfits (think boxy shoulders) whether 1930s or 1980s.
The bow sits about 13cm high off the head and is approx 37cm from point to point. The sweeping, asymmetric side brim is wired to keep its elegant shape, and the small base has a hidden buckram insert to give it supportive structure. This piece is completely handmade using traditional techniques.
The hat is held on with a black elastic that sits securely under the hair at the nape of the neck.
