Order Processing:
All orders are 100% handwoven ring-by-ring by the artist and apprentice. If a product is not in stock, it will be created just for you and by hand. It Is Known prioritizes the quality and sustainability of slow fashion to provide an a range of colors and style choices.
Designs marked “ready to ship” will ship in 5-7 business days. If you require a small adjustment (resizing of chain on a ready to wear piece, etc), please allow for 7 business days of processing time.
Designs marked “made-to-order” are custom, handwoven, and made-to-order, just for you. While we always aim to beat the listed processing times, please note that the following turnaround times apply:
2-4 weeks normal processing time
4-6 weeks during peak times
Rush Shipping:
It Is Known accepts rush made-to-order items when order turnaround allows and depending on the complexity of the requested piece. A rush order entails any order that is required in less than 2 weeks.
Please message us first to confirm with 1) a link to the item you intend to order, 2) color 3) size and 4) need-by date. If accepted, please include all requested measurements and the need-by date in order note comments.
Rush orders are priced at 10-30% of the item value for less than 2 weeks turnaround, dependent on design complexity and current raw material stock. We may waive rush fees at our discretion for in-stock or quick ship items: these items change frequently. Rush fees cover the cost of overtime weaving for the team and rush ordering of materials.
Returns/Exchanges:
It Is Known designs are custom made-to-order and therefore final sale at the time of purchase. In order to offer our clients a vast array of size and color options and a custom order experience, we do not accept returns or exchanges. If you’ve selected the wrong size or color at checkout, please email us within 48 hours of purchase to make an adjustment.
Please note that all items are made-to-order unless marked “ready to ship” and subject to processing times.
All designs are covered by It Is Known's lifetime guarantee policy, which allows for free, basic repairs for the life of the design, including sizing adjustments for the cost of round-trip shipping. To have your piece adjusted/resized/repaired, please contact us directly for shipping information and a shipping invoice.
If you receive an item that is damaged, defective or broken upon arrival, contact us immediately after opening your package with a picture of the damaged item for assessment. Any contact received more than 7 days after the package arrives will not be eligible for a full refund.
Shipping:
It Is Known ships to many international destinations. The flat rate for international orders reflects current USPS priority mail pricing for flat rate shipping. Please note that we mark all item value accurately for customs purposes.
At this time we are not accepting orders from the following countries due to customs restrictions and import laws. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Customers from these countries are welcome to take advantage of our pick-up offering at events, pop-ups and during trips to New York City:

Some international deliveries are subject to customs and tariffs at the destination country. Please note that It Is Known has no control over international delivery delays or customs fees and cannot offer refunds if an item is refused due to unanticipated customs charges or never claimed at the destination country. If an item is returned to It Is Known, you will be invoiced for the cost of sending it again. Items refused at the point of delivery due to customs charges will be treated as abandoned and are not eligible for refund.
